We currently operate a number of castings techniques within the die section of our foundry, these include Rack & Pinion, Tilting, Hand Operated and Hydraulic Operation of dies, this enables us to produce a wide selection of Gravity castings weighing from a few grams up to 20 kg. We cast in a variety of alloys, the three most common being LM6, LM25 and A356.
The Gravity Die process is most commonly used for high volume, high specification castings and provides a finer finish than sand castings.
Gravity Dies can be made at a fraction of the cost of Pressure Dies and due to the non-turbulent filling process, produces castings with minimal porosity. Gravity castings are consistently more accurate dimensionally than those produced by the sand process.
